31 August 2018.
Avonmore Tertiary Institute made us aware of their liquidation yesterday evening. We are working as quickly as possible on a new solution for our apprenticeship training and assessment in the Christchurch area.
We have notified the 132 affected apprentices by text message today.
A number of apprentices were scheduled to attend Avonmore next week on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. We have now arranged for them to go to Ara Institute, corner of Taum and High Street, Christchurch. The assessors will remain the same, but the time of the session has changed and will now start at 3pm.
For other apprentices due to go to Avonmore later in the year, we will contact them as soon as we have information about a new arrangement for their off-job training and assessment components of their apprenticeship.
Our first concern is for our apprentices and we are working hard to ensure that there is as little disruption to their training as possible.
Avonmore has been in business for 30 years and we are sorry to hear that they are no longer able to find a viable way to continue to operate.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to our apprentices and our industry. We have worked as quickly as possible to fix this.
