Over June and July, HITO travelled the country to host the HITO Industry Leadership Forums.
These forums gave employers the chance to share their thoughts on the hairdressing and barbering qualifications that HITO currently offer and give feedback on how HITO can better service our industries in the future.
To ensure our qualifications meet the needs of industry, employer feedback is crucial.
If you have not managed to provide any feedback please feel free to send your comments or feedback to Katherine Hailstone at email@example.com.
Starting in Auckland, CEO Kay Nelson and General Manager – Stakeholder Engagement Debra Hawkins travelled through New Zealand, running workshops with employers in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Dunedin, Invercargill, Nelson, Hamilton, New Plymouth, and Palmerston North.
At each forum, HITO gathered feedback from attendees on the current qualifications offered and future employer requirements needed from HITO. Discussions included how relevant the current qualifications were in meeting industry needs and how well the services currently in place by HITO support employers and meet industry needs.
Thank you to all the employers who were able to attend and provide feedback. It was fantastic to meet you all. These forums were extremely valuable for HITO, and we look forward to implementing your suggestions and making sure hair and barbering are viewed as valuable career options, helping the industry grow and remain successful far into the future.
For all our apprentices and trainees, and hairdressing and barbering provides – we haven’t forgotten about you. We’re holding forums for the providers next week in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. Invitations have gone out to all providers who offer NZQA approved qualifications, so if you haven’t heard from us, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love for you to come along. HITO Sales and Training Advisors are also currently seeking feedback from all our apprentices.
