You can then go on to do one of three strands. You would choose whichever is relevant to your skills and experience.
- The Assessment of Hairdressing strand recognises the skills required by registered assessors to ensure that they make fair, valid, and consistent judgements in accordance with national standards.
- The Tutoring in Hairdressing strand offers experienced hairdressers the opportunity for recognition of the skills and knowledge required to train and develop skills of hairdressing trainees. It acknowledges the need for tutors to be skilled hairdressers, and conversant with principles and practices required to provide best practice in a training environment.
- The Salon Management strand provides recognition for the more complex hairdressing skills and knowledge required by clients. It also allows people to choose the most appropriate skills and knowledge required to effectively manage a small business within the hairdressing industry.
