This is a basic introduction to the hairdressing industry for students still at school.
There are a number of unit standards that can be achieved and is a great stepping stone for everyone who would like to follow a career in barbering.
The programme includes the following unit standards.
- 21939: Demonstrate knowledge of fashion trends in relation to hairstyling
- 21940: Demonstrate knowledge of workplace requirements for employment in a commercial hair business
- 19808: Select and maintain barbering tools and equipment
- 21935: Maintain order and supplies for a commercial hair business
- 21936: Prepare the client for hair services in a commercial salon
- 21938: Apply communication skills in a commercial hair business.
