Arthur Devine Inspired Hair & Makeup, Blenheim
At only 25 years of age Arthur Devine has already made his mark on the hair and beauty industry. Since establishing Arthur Devine Inspired Hair & Makeup in October 2006 he has increased the size of his staff from 3 to 18, and created one of the best salons in the Marlborough region.
Arthur’s commitment to having skilled hair stylists is evidenced by the fact that all of his staff are either qualified or in training. Of his 18 staff, nine are currently doing an apprenticeship with HITO.

“When I began my hairdressing apprenticeship at the age of 15 I was on $3.20 an hour. Since starting my own salon I’ve been committed to pay apprentices a decent wage that they can live on. I also pay a cash bonus after five years service and have twice sent my whole team to the Hair Expo in Australia. But in return, my expectations from my apprentices are high.”
