Patrick Cameron talks honestly about training
To support the HITO Employer Professional Development sessions, HITO has worked in collaboration with AKO Aotearoa to develop a new DVD which showcases the enthusiasm and passion of five New Zealand salons totally committed to apprenticeship training and workforce development.
The DVD features salon owners, qualified stylists and apprentices sharing their stories on the importance of apprenticeship training and lifelong learning.
The five salons featured were all finalists in the 2009 HITO Training Salon of the Year Awards. By taking on apprentices and supporting them, these salons are helping to ensure that the future of hair is in good hands.
These salons are by no means the only salons supporting hairdressing apprenticeship training in New Zealand but if you are an employer looking to take on a new apprentice or wondering if there is something else you can do to help get the best out of your apprentice relationship, then this DVD may well give you some inspiration.
