Overview of Change
On behalf of the HITO Constitutional Working Group it gives us great pleasure to attach for your attention and feedback a series of documents, including the proposed new HITO constitution. These documents represent the initial thinking of the constitution working group, and incorporate all of the feedback received in the initial series of consultation workshops held around New Zealand in October and early November 2011.
On these pages for your attention are:
- A summary of the principles agreed by the working group, feedback received on these via our October/November workshops, and the respective clauses in the draft constitution that bring these to life.
- A question and answer section, which outlines the questions that we have been asked to date, and answers to these. This may assist you in your discussions with colleagues.
- A copy of the proposed new constitution for HITO, incorporating all of the principles referred to above
All Association members and employers in a training agreement with HITO will be sent an email with the summary document, Q&A, and feedback forms attached. Included in their email will be a link to the proposed constitution, should they wish to view this in full. They will also be invited to request a hard copy be sent to them.
What to do next?
We would encourage you to convene a meeting of your Association and/or colleagues and discuss these proposals, and complete and return the feedback form. Due to the time it has taken to compile this material and complete the initial round of consultation, we have extended the period for feedback to 10 December.
We would be happy to make ourselves available to attend meetings of your Associations over the next few weeks to discuss these proposals with you. Please contact either one of us and we will do our best to get there. Alternatively, if you have any questions at all please contact us at the details below.
HITO Awards Day Constitution Workshop – Auckland, Sunday 20 November
Given that many of you will be in Auckland this weekend for the HITO awards, we have scheduled a workshop on Sunday, 20 November at the The Jubilee Hall (Upstairs), 545 Parnell Road, Parnell from 11am-1pm. We would be pleased if you were able to join us to answer any queries and discuss any aspect of the proposed constitution.
Thank you for your time to consider all of these proposals and we look forward to receiving your feedback over coming weeks.
Kind regards
